Choose PTZ when one camera needs to inspect several zones. Compare zoom range, presets, mounting position, night visibility, and whether local NVR recording is required.
PTZ security cameras are built for spaces where a fixed view is not enough: gates, loading docks, parking areas, larger yards, and warehouse perimeters. Pan, tilt, and zoom give an operator or a preset patrol more flexibility than a single fixed camera.
PTZ works best as part of a coverage plan. Use fixed cameras for continuous views of entrances and routes, then place PTZ coverage where zoom, tracking, or manual inspection can add value without creating a blind spot.
